Mikalina Rylance has been dancing since the age of 2 in styles such as contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap and Ukrainian dance.

When she graduated from high school, Mikalina moved to Toronto to study at Conteur Dance Academy to further her dance knowledge in contemporary and modern ballet. While in Toronto, she auditioned for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and soon was offered a contract as a professional dancer. While working with Royal Caribbean, Mikalina visited 33 counties throughout Scandinavia, Europe, North America and the Caribbean.

After dancing around the world, Mikalina moved back to Edmonton and now attends the University of Alberta and is an instructor at Dance Code.

Inspired by her older sister Caterina Rylance, Mikalina decided to audition for Shumka and was lucky enough to be offered an opportunity with the company. She is very excited to be part of Shumka and can’t wait for what the future holds!
