*Price includes: all written, audio, and video resource materials for the selected Tier, the workshop (20-22 hours of instruction), and the certification examination.
Location: Shumka Dance Centre, 10515 111 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.
Instructor workshops are scheduled annually on a calendar developed by the Academy. Dance communities may also host syllabus workshops, and virtual may also be held in exceptional circumstances. Workshops are approximately 20 hours in duration and are typically scheduled in either a three or four-day length format.
The Tier 1 instructor workshop is open to individuals minimum of 14 years of age with demonstrable dance experience. Instructional experience is recommended. The Tier 2 instructor workshop is open to individuals having completed the Tier 1 workshop and the Tier 3 instructor workshop and is open to individuals having completed the Tier 2 workshop. The instructor certification examination, offered at the end of the workshop, is not mandatory but recommended.
Note: the minimum age requirement to enrol in the instructor examination is 16 years; 2. workshop attendees must attend the entire workshop to be eligible to examine.
Instructor workshops are designed to be interactive and hands-on. Participants are requested to wear attire suitable for dance.
Course materials provided by the Academy include:
- User Guide, consisting of ‘Syllabus Introduction,’ ‘*Procedures manual, ‘Ukrainian Dance
- Glossary’ and ‘Master Glossary.’
- Tier booklet consisting of ‘Set Exercises,’ ‘Grade Notations’ and ‘Classical Ballet’ appendix for the applicable tier.
- Tier music (Tier 1, 2 or 3).
- Tier video (Tier 1, 2 or 3).
