Alyssa Shukalek was first introduced to Shumka as a student in the Shumka School where she danced for many years. She grew up watching various Shumka productions which never failed to amaze her to the point that she aspired to one day be a part of it. Alyssa has been a dancer in the company for two years now and has already had incredible opportunities such as collaborating with other artists, and being a part of productions that have pushed her to grow both as a performer, and as a person. Alyssa is honoured to be a member of the Shumka 60 cast and believes this tour provides the unique opportunity to both learn about Shumka’s history as well as showcase her culture across Canada. Besides dancing, Alyssa enjoys reading and playing instruments, as well as studying various topics of interest.
