Annikka Dobko

Annikka Dobko began her dance training at the age of 4 years old in Grande Prairie. There she studied ballet, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary in addition to Ukrainian dance. At the age of 15, Annikka left home to pursue further ballet training at the School of Alberta in Calgary, Alberta. During her time in Calgary, she also danced part time with Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble.

Further pursuing her dance education, Annikka graduated from Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington, DC then performed as a Trainee with Orlando Ballet, in Florida. Annikka has also studied at intensive ballet programs at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp in Belgium, American Ballet Theatre and Joffrey Ballet in New York City, The National Ballet of Canada in Toronto, Ballet West in Salt Lake City and Oklahoma City Ballet. In 2017, she moved back to Canada to join Shumka.

Annikka has completed ballet exams with distinction in RAD, Cechetti and Vagonova as well as Shumka syllabus exams (Ukrainian dance) and CDTA exams (tap and jazz). In addition, Annikka recently completed her training as an RAD teacher and holds a Certificate in Ballet teaching Studies from the Royal Academy Dance, as well as a diploma in Arts & Culture Management and a personal trainer certification.

When she is not performing, Annikka is an international model, having been on various contracts in South America.
