Financial support from governments and community foundations for Shumka's artistic work and programming is a testament to the value of this treasured form of art and culture in Alberta and Canada.
The return on public investment in Shumka is evident in the growth of appreciation for this dance discipline; the opportunities it provides for those in the performing arts and related industries; and the gifts of heritage and tradition that the company shares with audiences at home and abroad. Government and community foundation support is also an important factor in Shumka's continued ability to make its art accessible to audiences of all ethnic origins and from all walks of life.
