Did You Know...
Summertime Dreams, a lullaby for the war-torn children of the world, is an international collaboration directed by Shumka’s Gordon Gordey, choreographed by Viktor Lytvynov of the National Children’s Theatre of Kyiv, and sung by Junetta Jamerson of the Black Pioneer Heritage Singers with Winnipeg’s Alexis Kochan. This moving piece is danced by the Shumka Dancers to a sound score of traditional lullabies, Gershwin’s Summertime, and actual battlefield engagement soundscape provided by Edmonton Garrison soldiers.
