Dave Ganert, Shumka’s Artistic Director, is a prolific choreographer who has created more than 20 original main-stage dance-works for Shumka over the past four years; an accomplishment that is unequalled by any choreographer in the Ukrainian dance genre in Canada.

Physical Facilities
Shumka Studios are located within Sherbrooke School, minutes northwest of Edmonton’s downtown core.
Featuring sprung wood floors overlayed with professional dance flooring, full-length mirrors and pitch-controlled audio systems, each of Shumka’s three dance studios is in use 12 months of the year and available for naming.
Shumka’s facilities are used for rehearsals, workshops, private and public seminars, demonstrations and corporate events, and will be on stream in 2011 as a venue for Edmonton's International Fringe Theatre Festival.

Shumka’s season of works at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium provides unique opportunities to promote your support of our work. From national and international tours, to repertoire shows and student matinees, Shumka’s shows play to full houses of very appreciative patrons!
