Shumka Summer Dance Camps now offer 5 different styles of camps, to suit every taste, age level and ability. Want an intensive Ukrainian dance-only experience? We've got it! Want to try out some wild and wacky recreational activities?

At the Shumka School of Dance, we strive to ensure that all dancers are inspired to pursue the art of Ukrainian dance, and become passionate about Ukrainian culture while making friends and having fun. Our camps are designed to offer dancers an intensive Ukrainian dance experience, combined with a chance to explore lots of other recreational pursuits. Simply choose the camp that gives you more of what you want!

With 15 - 30 hours of dance per week in our studios or at our lakeside camps, you can challenge yourself with a new regional style of dance, perfect your technique, or focus on this year's theme region, Podillia. Students at all camps will experience the culture, traditions, music and dances from this exciting region, in addition to sampling other dance lexicon. Campers at our 1-week and 2-week overnight camps will also learn dances from several other regions of Ukraine such as Polissia, Bukovyna, Volyn, Hutsulschyna, Pokuttia, and Central Ukraine.

Whether you have years of specialized Ukrainian dance experience or none at all, our camps offer something for you. Our Ukrainian dance intensives will challenge even the most advanced Ukrainian dancer, but if you're only looking to get your feet wet, don't worry. Most of our camps are arranged by age only, so a Ukrainian dance background is not necessary.

All you need is a desire to explore a new way of moving and a healthy appetite for adventure. Grab some friends and try something new - these action-packed programs will bring out the Ukrainian dancer in anyone!
