Leda Prytuluk's "Hopak!"

This exciting piece of art captures the imagination of anyone who has seen or experienced the most famous of all Ukrainian Dances, Hopak! Leda Prytuluk, an accomplished watercolour artist, has woven together an intricate expression of what "Hopak" means to her. This expression stems from her personal experience dancing with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers.

Leda has actually taken the 1st violin sheet music from Shumka's Whirlwind Hopak and strung it along a dancing treble clef that gradually evolves into costumes pieces, ribbons, flowers and wheat. If you look closely you will find four red Ukrainian Dance boots, an impression of Canada & Ukraine, a Plakhta, a Tryzub and many other images that Leda conjures when she thinks about her days as a Shumka Dancer.

These fine prints are reproductions of an original watercolour by the celebrated Ukrainian artist. They are printed on high quality, acid-free paper using the offset lithography process. Each limited edition print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, signed and numbered by the artist. Specially priced at $150.00. Perfect for gift giving!
