The Ukrainian Shumka Dancers Alumni Association (USDAA) was formed in 1986
to promote fellowship among former dancers and to support the Dancing Company.
A significant focus is placed in maintaining an archival account of Shumka's
activities. Membership is open to all alumni of the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers
and dues are $15/year. For membership information please contact USDAA, attention
Kathy Kowalishin, Membership Director.
The Annual General Meeting is held every September. For further information please contact any USDAA Executive member.
The USDAA "Step in Time" newsletter is published 3-4 times per year
and is mailed to all paid members. It is used to make announcements and share
news regarding alumni activities, as well as a company update! Submissions are
welcome and alumni can do so by contacting USDAA, attention Eldya Popil,
Newsletter Director.
In recent years the association has hosted an annual golf tournament and has
held an annual Christmas party and silent auction, both of which are immensely
enjoyed by old friends.
The association is currently involved in a major project to build a commemorative
structure in Edmonton's river valley. Design plans are being worked on and fundraising
is well under way. This is a wonderful opportunity to honour alumni and dancers
for their dedication and contributions to the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers. For

As the alumni now number in the hundreds, it is an on-going challenge to maintain
a current contact list. Alumni are encouraged to notify USDAA, attention Kathy Kowalishin, Membership Director of their current address and phone number.
